Left L'ermitage about 10 after packing up. Long drive back to Paris about 6 hours. Stopped on the way at a "roadhouse" and was utter mayhem. A day of general maintenance around the house and of course lots of eating and drinking as well as watching the tennis. The Deacon's neighbours came over for a drink on their way to the local pub. An executive decision was made after the tennis that we would make the trek to the pub. Miserable weather so a nice long sleep in. Went for a drive to Gourdon, a lovely medieval town and did the walking tour ourselves. Wonderful old church and tiny cobblestone streets with remnants of the city wall. Fantastic views from the top of what was the original fort. Back to L'ermitage for yet more wine and food. Spent the morning catching a bit of sunshine before the weather changed. Caroline and Ritchie left today to drive back to Copenhagen. Went for a drive to Cahors to do some shopping and have a look around. Lovely old towns in this area. Weather gone to pot but still not cold just rain but not too heavy
