Day 96-101 (in the hundreds now!!)
Well we have had a very relaxing 4 nights in Krabi after abit (well a very) stressful start!
The trip here went completely t*** up! We first had a ferry journey followed by a 2 hour coach journey followed by another coach journey - the ferry and first coach went fine (considering that we paid a lot of money and were given one piece of paper as a 'voucher' from the travel company) anyway after we got off the first coach we made our way to find the second coach - as we were walking down the street a woman came out of a tour shop saying this was where the bus came but we were 10 minutes late so it had already gone!!! (We were 10 minutes late but it wasn't our fault!) She said we either waited until 14:30 (it was 11:55am) for another bus which will have us arriving in Krabi late at night or we pay an extra 500 baht now for a mini van which will get us to Krabi in 2 hours - we said we would wait as we were not prepared to pay another 500 baht each but then she made out she would pay 150 baht per person so it would be 350 each which after a 5am start we decided to just pay so we could get there! After waiting another half an hour A big blue bus pulled up (which me and jake recognised as the public transport bus which we have been on before to hua hin) they loaded our luggage on and saw it said to Krabi on the front so we just got on... once on board the man comes round and asks for our tickets!!!!! (We didn't have any bloody tickets!) We didn't get tickets off the woman so after a phonecall to her Luckily he drops it and let's us on without! We then find out it should of only been 150 baht each and that's what everyone else on the bus had paid and we have just been completely robbed!!!! 5 hours later we arrived in Krabi! (Not even at our hotel as promised!) so all in all we were completely mugged off and need to be more careful next time! Haha! That's the only downside to being in such a beautiful country EVERYONE is always trying to have you off so you always need to be on guard! Unfortunately when your as gullible as me that's abit of a problem!
We then arrived at our hotel 'Aonang cliff view resort' Where we had a 'standard bungalow with fan' room - I still to this day do not know why I would book this especially in 30 + degree heat we need aircon!! Anyway it was basically 2 single mattresses on the floor with a tiny little fan in a slightly raised up bungalow in the jungle - BUGS EVERYWHERE! To cut a long story short I had a meltdown and even jake agreed we should write off the £50 we paid for it and find somewhere new! (Not to mention the thousands of cats roaming round which kept me on edge 24/7!) Luckily I found us the little gem we are in now for £200! It is 4 star though with brecky included and a nice pool so for £50 a night for 4 nights jake agreed and we came here!! Woo hoo!
The trauma didn't end there... one night we had been out for tea and we were walking back along the pavement with a row of nice souvenir shops on our left and out of nowhere a MOUSE runs out of one of the shops and runs straight into my leg - tries to run up my leg before backflipping back onto the floor and running off!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD! Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how scared to death I am of mice and rats and how traumatising this was when I was in little flip flops!! I felt it's little claws and it's fur!! (EW!) I struggle to even talk about it now it was so awful! I can't sleep at night! I screamed so loud in front of everyone and burst out crying clinging to jake for dear life and to shield me from the embarrassment of everyone staring!!! Jake found this very funny which I wasn't best impressed at!
After all the traumas the rest of the trip has been really lovely and very relaxing! I had cheat night last night where I stuffed my fat face with McDonald's and icecream and biscuits etc and I still feel sick this morning as I'm writing this! (Didn't stop me going down for the free breckie though)! Haha I am going to try and be good now for a few weeks so I don't waddle off the plane unrecognisably fat!!!!
We have spent our time here relaxing by the pool which has lovely views of the surrounding mountains and then we have walked down to the beaches a few times which are as gorgeous as ever!
Today we travel to Koh Lanta which is a small island so there will be less to do but I chose it as it's a more chilled out picturesque island for more relaxing and sunbathing!! (It's a hard life!)
Other than that there's not much else to report... I seriously need to start my coming home diet today so trying to get motivated and going to start doing some lengths in the next few pools we have! (Jakes taught me to swim again whilst we've been away so I'm really good now!)
Missing you all loads!
Lots of love xxxx
