Day 21-25
Hey guys!
Finally have some wifi after being on an overnight coach and then a 2 night boat trip! We have just about recovered from the tiredness as we hardly slept on the coach and literally walked off the coach onto the boat where we didn't get much sleep either!
Sailing round the whitsunday islands was amazing! When we got on the boat we were shown our beds, luckily they put all the couples in doubles beds first so I didn't have to sleep on my own! Although it was pretty cramped in the dorms and the beds were really close together so the guy on the top bunk of our bed had to actually stand on our bed to climb up! Luckily We had enough alcohol so we just had to drink to get us to sleep! Haha! Everyone on the boat was lovely though although it was hard to get changed as there was no private changing rooms!
Most importantly tea on the first night was really good - oven baked cod with tomatoes and pesto with mash and home made coleslaw! Yum! We were then up at 6:30am the next morning to go to Whitehaven beach which was the best beach we have and probably will ever go to! They filmed pirates of the Caribbean - dead men tell no tales - there as the sand is the whitest you can get! I'll put some pics up! You can also wash your hair and exfoliate your skin with the sand so I was straight in there rubbing the sand in my hair and all over me to save me having to shower on the boat as they were pretty minging! There were also stingrays and fish swimming in the crystal clear waters which was amazing as they swam right beside you! (Pic to follow).
After a morning on the beach we set sail to a lovely bay where we spent the afternoon snorkelling which we loved! (I obviously needed 2 sausage floats because I now can't swim without drowning for some reason!) we then watched the sun set which was really lovely!
On the last day they put up a massive water slide off the boat into the sea and got out loads of paddle boards which were really fun! So yeah we had a ball! And I wasn't travel sick atall! 2 nights on a cramped boat with 30 people was enough though and we were glad to check into our next hostel for abit of space! We then spent the evening doing some laundry and packing up ready to leave for magnetic island (which is where we now are for 2 nights).
Magnetic island is gorgeous with loads of little bays/ coves and beaches which are quite far away from each other so tomorrow we are hiring a topless barbie car to drive the whole way round the island exploring! So excited! (Jake isn't impressed with the tiny pink cars) haha I will post a pic of him in one afterwards lol!
The hostel we are at for the next 2 nights is a koala bear sanctuary so there are cute koala bears in the trees and all sorts of animals wandering round and we are sleeping in a little bungalow (well a one bed hut) on stilts! It's basically like a glamping pod and there's a cute bar which we are currently sat having a drink in waiting for the quiz night to start!
I hope we get a good nights sleep as it's really noisy with all the wildlife and jakes on edge!!
We are really missing full English breakfasts out here so I'm going to try and persuade jake to let us have breckie out tomorrow!
On Thursday we go up to cairns for 2 nights where we go snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef which we are really looking forward to!
Missing you all loads!
Chow for now! Xxxx
