Day 27-29

So we had our last coach journey on Thursday! Woo hoo! The journey wasn't actually that bad as we were on a brand new coach and the driver put 2 movies on! One of which was 'the martian' which I extremely recommend watching if you haven't already done so! After 2 movies and a little nap we arrived in cairns. We checked into our hostel around 8:30pm to be told that our room (which was supposed to be ensuite) had been taken and all they could give us is a standard double room with shared facilities! As you can imagine I was tired after a 5 hour coach journey and after using shared facilities for the majority of our trip I could of literally burst into tears! I think the poor woman on reception realised this and started throwing complementary beers and bottles of water at us and assured us that It would only be for the first of our 2 night stay and they would have us a room by tomorrow which I accepted! (And the day after we got an ensuite room! Which is like gold dust to us even though it's still pretty minging).

Yesterday we got picked up at 7am for our snorkelling day on the Great Barrier Reef which was AMAZING and one of our best days so far! We saw turtles which we swam beside for ages and they let us touch them and get really close which was amazing! The Reef was so colourful with loads of little nemo's and other colourful fish! The food on the boat was amazing especially the Danish pastries at breakfast in which I had 4!! Still haven't mastered the self control when around cakes yet!
We were also told that the biggest sea turtle that we were swimming with was called Maurice!!! (Thought you might like this Maurice and Margaret x)

We are just having a chill out day today exploring Cairns and looking for a nice restaurant to have tea in tonight (talked jake into letting us have a treat tea especially if he wanted me to watch the untied game later haha) it's on at 9:30 pm here so we also need to find a sports bar that's streaming it!
We are up early tomorrow ready for our flight which I think is around 6am to Melbourne and we are staying in a luxury apartment there for 5 days with wifi and our own kitchen and showers!!! Can't wait!!! Like literally can't wait! I have already prepared jake a full meal plan of all the meals he needs to cook which I have been working on for 2 weeks! Haha!
It's so hot here at the minute too! It's 29 degrees and it's only 10:25 am!
We have just had our beans on toast with tomatoes for breckie and are going to explore now so I'll write again once we arrive in Melbourne (hopefully the apartments will be as amazing as they say they are!!)
