Saturday 8th March - 17th April 2014
I returned back to work till the end of April, which I was sad to leave. They gave me a good sending off and another kangaroo cuddley toy to take home with me!
So the weather has started to change into winter, which I'm not too happy about. I think our summer in Perth has ruined every summer for the rest of my life! The winter here feels very much the same back at home during autumn.
Stu has spent most of his time trying to find on going working and working the odd shift here and there. I have started some work at an aged care health provider, chasing debt from old people. Which isn't nice being shouted at or having your ear talked off by the old biddies!
We haven't really done a hell of a lot as we have been trying to save money and find work. We did however book our flights home and our last big trip in Australia seeing as there was an offer. We managed to get flights from Melbourne via Abu Dhabi for a few days, plus a hotel and some awesome tours for a half decent price! Properly the most expensive hotel we have paid for in the last two and a half years!
We also put our deposit on for our tour from Adelaide to Darwin, so that plan is put into place now. We have also decided that we will fly from Darwin to Brisbane to go to Australia Zoo, Steve Irwin's zoo, as Stu wants to go, and also to go to one of the Gold Coast Parks. Then we will fly from Brisbane to Hobart to visit our last state in Australia before flying back to Melbourne for the night and flying out the next day. It will be some pretty extreme and long days of sight seeing, but it's the only way we can really do it!
The apartment is going well, its kind of annoying in a sense as its also a 'hotel' so on the weekends it gets a little noisy from weekend revellers! But generally its fine. We are also used to the city noises, there is a constant buzz and sirens going off!
We also went for a date night at the casino, we never seem to get ID any more, so we must finally look old enough! We had a go at the 1 cent machines, which was so confusing and fun, too many buttons to press. We didn't win a lot, but we went and had a go at roulette. I wonder if my Grandad was watching from above! I used to play it with my Grandad as a kid, so I knew what to do! We start doing the small bets, like red or black and odds and evens etc. Once we built up a few more chips we put some random ones on numbers etc. We won a big round and I didn't realise that Stu had also put a chip on the number too! We instantly cashed in our winnings and were a proud owner of our first $100 bill! It was so shiny! We won't be doing it too often though!
