Wednesday 6th August - Tuesday 22nd September 2014
We landed back at Heathrow at 6 pm and got through security relatively quickly before being picked up by mum and dad. It was great seeing them again and we were back on the road to go home! Got to see my sister and Mark who is my sister's new boyfriend who we haven't met before!
Stu's mum, dad and brother came over for a cup of tea and catch up. It was so good seeing family again and was looking forward to the six weeks I'll be here for.
We unpacked our bags the next day which was painful process, found all my souvenirs too and put about 30 loads of washing on!
We had a welcome home party on the Saturday and it was so great seeing everyone! I also got to see my nephew for the first time since I left who is now 2.5 years unlike 2 months when we first left the UK! He is so cute!
We both had jobs luckily and time seemed to fly past even quicker when we were working. Stu was working with Mark at the moto motor way service station and I worked with Stu's dad helping his office move from one building to their new building!
We had a family day out at Warwick Castle which was great fun walking round the castle and watching the jousting!
We also went on holiday to Sussex with Louisa, Mark and Lucas in a caravan which was great fun! I won at bingo!!! We also had a great time playing all the silly arcade games and going swimming! We headed down to Bexhill to the beach and we enjoyed the sun and the festival and market that were on. We brought plenty of Christmas presents! It was also great getting to spend time with Mark who we haven't met before and have built up this 'online' relationship via Louisa and facebook!
We have done all of our Christmas shopping and wrapped it all up ready so we don't have to send anything home! Mum also gave us our main Christmas presents and a small bag of presents which I had to pack in my suitcase. Luckily it was all squishie stuff so nothing should break!
We met up with Stu's cousin Charlie in London for lunch and went to Ant and Kate's house for dinner too! We were both fortunate enough to have jobs throughout our stay and we could do more things than we expected we could.
It has just been nice being at home surrounded by family and friends after such a long time of being on our own for the majority of the time!
We've managed to finally book our flights to Iceland and to Canada, buy our insurance and book our tours for Iceland! Hurray! We also finally received our cheques for our super (pension) from Australia and cashed it in, even though I am still waiting for mine to hit my bank. We also have got our tax back sorted for this years financial year, so we are waiting for some more money to be received from Australia!
We have also enjoyed spending time with Lucas, Stu was scared but feels much better being around him now. Properly as he can walk and talk and is much more interesting than when he is just 2 months.
