Sunday 15th July
We woke up and were on time for our pick up, it was late however. We were all ready to go, but a couple of Irish girls took their sweet time to get here, then some more people were also 30 minutes late. What made me laugh that the Irish girls were complaining the others were late but they were late by 10 minutes too. Even with the taxi being late. They also had a ridiculous amount of luggage with them.
Soon we arrived at the ferry pier where it was the most disorganised thing I have seen. I expect disorganised and pushing etc (we've travelled through China) but this was on another level. After managing to board the boat and finding seats, we settled down for the trip to Koh Samui.
We arrived and found ourselves a taxi to our hostel, which was out from the seedy backpacker area. We found some cheap lunch and chilled out in the hostel. It was a very upmarket hostel; we booked ourselves a dorm but got a private instead with our own TV. Stu has also found a TV channel that plays movies all day, we think they play them on a DVD player and stream it on the TV channel!
We went in search of dinner and came across a walking market that was just for today! There were hundreds of stalls selling all sorts of food. We also brought some homemade cake!
Overall it was a good find!
Monday 16th July
We had another lie in before going to the beach; it was a nice little beach, not too busy and not full of hawkers either. We enjoyed a peaceful day topping up the tan and messing around in the sea.
We have made a new game where we try to drown each other, this proved easy for me since Stu can't float in the water!
After a good day of topping up of the already black tan we headed inside.
We ventured out to find some food and were disappointed there was no street food. We found a small restaurant which took about 10 years to serve us due to the influx of Russian tourists in the restaurant with no kind of manners for anyone!
We returned back and got ourselves packed ready for our early morning departure!
