Today I wanted to head towards the Capricorn caves, which was about 10 minutes where we had just come from. It was a really interesting tour.
It was first discovered in 1882 by a Norwegian migrant John Olsen. He went on to claim the land under a lease hold title and open the attraction publicly in 1884. The caves host a number of weddings each year. We also experience complete darkness, pretty scary you literally couldn't see your hand in front of your face! John Olsen had navigated these caves with just a candle and each time it blew out he had to get back out again and start again! That's dedication! The caves were pretty spectacular and it was a good side trip we made!
We saw a beautiful St Andrew's Cross spider on our way out, a pretty big thing too!
We headed onto Bundaburg, we had a little scare as the fuel was running low, but we made it to the petrol station and to the camp site in time before they closed the office!
