Today was the day I made the biggest change in my life. Not travelling the world, not packing up and travelling alone, but actually moving my life to a country, a place where really I knew nothing about apart from my heritage, my love, my need to be in a place that really makes me feel at home; the land of the Jewish people, Israel.
I never really was one for stable decisions in the eyes of my parents, however, this was the one real and promising decision I had made in my life, to move to a country where all around me there are jewish lives, israelis, other olim chadashim, it was a dream for me. I never hesitated once in my decision process to do this. Yes, I am spontaneous, but for a very good reason. I am passionate about what I believe, chase the dreams I want to succeed, and most of all be the person that I truly want to be.
As I arrived into Ben Gurion I felt this huge grin on my face appear and nothing could wipe it away. I arrived at the immigration desk and approximately two hours later I was free to go into the land of Israel, my new home, along with my Teudat Zeheut (my israeli identification card). Three suitcases and maybe something like 10 hours later I reach my home for the next 5 months, Beit Canada Ulpan situated in East Jerusalem, a beautiful town called Armon Hanatziv. For those of you who don't know, its a MUST to go to the tayalet (promenade) and see the whole view of Jerusalem, wow it really is breathtaking.
Updates to be followed, after a long day and becoming a citizen in a new country, I am ready to sleep for a really long time!
