I cant believe it. Im already home and my Australian visa has expired.
Throughout the last 3 months when I didn't write, I was working in a bar called Wisdom for 2 months. I loved it, I made new friends and Darwin was a new and exciting little city. After those 2 months, I was moved to a smaller venue, with the same owner, to a bar called The Fox. I worked here for just over a month and a half and made some more life time friends.
Also, whilst in my time in Darwin, I took a 3 day trip to see Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks. Litchfield was beautiful; we visited lots of waterfalls and climbed mountains and went swimming, even in a croc invested lake!! (Apparently the fresh water crocs don't like to eat humans, as opposed to the salk water crocs!!) Not sure how much I believe that, but we all lived to tell the tale and never saw a croc.
We also went on a river cruise to spot wild crocs, where we did see one luckily, but theyre very sly and camoflague to the water so can be pretty hard to spot. We also saw aboriginal art drawn on massive rocks, nice and historic.
I thought I might die and fall off the mountain on one of the hikes, but I made it and got to swim in the gorge when we reached the top!! But it took me forever to go back down the mountain, not so steady going down as going up, Im almost like a cat who climbs a tree and then can't figure out how to get back down!!
The last part of the trip we went to Kakadu, it was still beautiful but i preferred Litchfield and all the swimming. It was still very exciting though but we had a long 5 hour drive back to Darwin by the end of the trip. Everywhere in Australia takes forever to get anywhere!!
Back in Darwin, I worked a lot to save money for coming home and figuring out my next move. I miss everyone a lot as I really made a home for myself in Darwin. I had my own house shared with 5 other people and a great job with great friends.
The day I was leaving I unfortunately caught tonsilitus and had the most horrific journey home! I have spent the last week in bed recovering. I am now feeling better and ready to try and do something with my life. I am trying to treat being home as a new adventure because to be honest its cold, miserable, the wages are terrible and its england, so not much of a prospect on my list.
I guess I don't really need to blog anymore whilst Im back in the country so I'm sure you'll hear from me in other ways when I get back on my feet.
So for now, read away, enjoy my last blog and speak soon :) xx
