What a day ! We have done so much and yet when you come to write about it, it seems so little on paper. Today started with a walk up Sentinal Rock to see Franz Josef glacier. The view was amazing and was our first glimpse of what a glacier looks like at its terminal face. It is far more imposing than you would think and a awful lot dirtier ! Another really early start this morning - 7:30am pick up ! This meant Elizabeth really lost the plot as she loves her sleep. I got her up to get dressed and she did a runner back to bed again. Today we checked out and left our luggage in the motel office. The day was very grey and uninviting so we just walked into the town and on the way popped into a clothes shop. I fell as we came out as it was very slippy. Well last night I was so tired I was in bed and sleeping just after 9pm. I obviously needed it as I was not awake until 8ish. Today is the first time we are glad we have coats with us, it has tipped it down or drizzled all day.This morning we had a walk into the town centre which is a 20 -30 minute walk away. OMG it's early ! The start this morning was far, far too early especially after a fairly disturbed night. We were picked up to catch the interislander ferry at 7am.
