Elizabeth was fascinated by the ducks around the van this morning and was very cute about them and saying quack.
In the end today was a very long day as we were on and off the road for over 12 hours. In short not the best day. We drove to Matamata for the Hobbiton tour and as we were very early we drove to the town for a look around as opposed to driving directly to the Shire's Rest. We then decided not to have our usual picnic lunch but go to the very nice café across the road. The girls had platters with fairy bread, lolly slice and mixed fruit. They loved the fairy bread ! I then went back and paid for the tour and David went back to the van to pick up bits and bobs only to find we had been burgled. The laptop was safe but ipod, medicine bag, toiletries, camera bag etc etc was all taken. This also included our Disney souvenirs, so I am going to have to figure out a way to get the patches replaced.
So the police were called and we met a very nice policeman called Simon with the strongest Yorkshire accent you have ever heard. I got a ride in an NZ police car on the up side. This is his first car crime in this car park in the 7 months he has been there.
Called Pacific Horizon and arranged a replacement van but it meant driving back to Auckland for it. Called Travel Time about the vouchers and they faxed copies to Pacific Horizon for us to collect and I managed to do so.
I still need to call Amex and put in a claim for everything, a bit of a pain. I suspect when I add it all up it will be around £700 we have lost in goods and most of that will be thrown away as it will be no good to them.
Oh and we were in a CCTV car park !
Cards are all cancelled that needed to be done and we are now at Cambridge Motor Park. We arrived at just after 9.15 and we are all tired.
