Today was another early start, 6am but then as we were all in bed by 9pm it was unsurprising. We had breakfast at the hotel and then I loaded the car. Arrived at Disneyland at about 9 and the queues were not too bad. Alex was very excited to see that Mickey was in a main square and that she was able to meet him again. We then headed up to Pixie Hollow to meet Tinkerbell. It was very nicely done but by the time we had stood in the queue for an hour Alex refused to meet them and Elizabeth was unsure of it all. She did thaw out eventually and gave Tinkerbell a hug and blew her a kiss.
We then went onto the Rockets with the girls, I had Elizabeth who thought they were amazing and just kept say flying, flying and smiling. This was followed by a turn on Buzz Lightyear after I talked Alex into going on and talked her through it all. She was fine through the ride and complained about it initially but then spent the entire afternoon saying "To infinity and beyond !".
David was keen to see what Chip 'n' Dale's tree house was like so we went to Toontown. The treehouse was rubbish so the girls played in Goofy's house and on Daisy's boat. Alex then wanted to see Minnie and her house again so we did that while Elizabeth and David scooted round looking at funny phones etc. Alex really liked Minnie's house and the interactive stuff was great. We then went on through to see Mickey's house which Alex did not like and almost left partway through. She was glad she stayed because she was entranced to see Mickey again.
Alex chose pizza for lunch so we went to tomorrowland, after which David and I changed into our travelling clothes. David, Alex and Elizabeth had one last ride on the rockets before we left the park. We went back to the hotel, changed the girls, packed up the pushchair and left Anaheim about 3pm.
The drive to the car rental place was really easy, the hardest part was putting petrol in the car. We then went to the airport to check in and it was not easy as this was the point the babies started melting down. They continued to meltdown through security which looking back on it I am not surprised about. The staff were rude and overbearing, treating us all like it was boot camp. There were no signs to tell you what they wanted just random staff shouting random instructions at you. The whole place is a shambles, I think a lot must be due to the airport not having been built with security in mind. I honestly think LA is badly let down by their airport.
We tried to feed the girls a burger for dinner but Burger King had no small burgers so we ended up with a cheese and ham baguette. In fact the most expensive sandwich in the world. I spent our last money on water and was complained at because I had too many coins. In summary, LA is nice, the people are nice shame about the airport and it's staff. Did I mention it is rubbish ?
Anyway we changed the girls into their PJs at 7pm and Elizabeth promptly fell asleep. I was nervous about this.
Enquiring minds would like to know where the hand driers are stashed.
