Hello All,
I've got nine days of work left before an indefinite period of travel.
Though I've spent the best part of the last ten years living overseas I'm actually feeling quiet apprehensive (but also excited) about this trip. In the past I've always had a safety net - a job and 'home' to go back to but now I will have no fixed address or return date. Just my my pack and a list of things I want to see and do. It's liberating but I'm not sure if my structured existance is ready for liberation.
I'm presently in the process of setting up arrangements to manage my life from on the road. This blog is part of the setting up process. Basically it will serve as a mean of communication to friends and family. If you want to follow what I'm up to it will make it easy, if not it's easily ignored. I will endevour to update it frequently with where I am, what I'm up to and any insights to life I gain along the way. Any feedback is welcome but please leave my spelling alone (especially Grom and Bart).
My plans so far a quiet simple on the 14th I leave for Thailand for a month. Most of this time will be spent in Phuket and the south. With my new found passion for everything martial I'm planing on spending a significant amount of this time in a Muay Thai boxing camp, which will at least provide some structure to my first weeks!. When I get back from Thailand I head down to the Stirling Ranges for a week long karate retreat (gashuku) and then I'll spend a couple of weeks packing up my villa and sorting my affairs in Perth. After this the plan is very minimal (still no flight bookings) but my idea is to head to SE Asian and work my wayaround this region then across to Europe via either China or India (or both!).
Anyway that's enough for a trial log. If you've read this can you please send me a message back by Facebook to let me know the blog setup is working.
