After four fun filled days at Delaware City Marina, it was time to leave.
Our original plan was to spend one night in Delaware City, then go to Baltimore Yacht Club for their opening day weekend and then return to Delaware City. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and we ended up staying here with three other boats from BYC. Castaway, Inconseavable, and Probably Shouldn't left Monday morning while we waited one more day for a good travel day down the Delaware Bay.
While we waited we met several other loopers who we hope to cross paths with as we travel the loop. Shortly after BYC left Mark and Karen from Kay Delaware invited us to join them and other loopers for lunch, then docktails later in the evening.
One of the traditions on the loop is for loopers to gather together in the evening for drinks and to swap stories and plan for the nnext couple of days.
As much as Angel did not want to wet set an alarm for 6:15am. To prepare for a 7am departure. After seeing everyone else off the dock, we fueled up and headed out.
The Delaware Bay was flat, and the current was with us giving us a great ride down the bay. We arrived in Cape May by noon. The bay is a long boring ride. Several times Angel would catch me doing stuff around the helm, and ask me who is driving the boat? The boat would be on autopilot, so I have decided to name the autopilot "Jimmy ".
Jimmy keeps me company and does alot of the driving on long stretches.
Two of my brothers and their wives came to Cape May and took us to see us before we left for a year. Dave & Connie and Andrew & Beth, thank you for dinner.
I had every intention of publishing this last night but I fell asleep while I was writing it. Nine PM is truth loopers midnight.
