WOW!!! is all I can say, Sitting here writing this looking over the Statue Of Liberty all lit up, and the New York skyline is just incredible.
When we started this trip my plan was to keep our travels to 50 miles or so a day. The NOAA forecast for the New Jersey coast for Thursday thru Sunday did not look very good for traveling, we decide to go from Cape May directly to New York. The trip was 122 miles and took about 8.5 hours.
I can not remeber ever having such great conditions in the Atlantic ocean. The seas were flat and we had a slight wind out of the south.
Pulling up to the Statue Of Liberty is overwhelming. One of the classic photo's looper try to get is a picture of thier boat in front of the statue. Because we are here by ourselves, the best I could do was to launch the dinghy, and take a picture from there.
As I am writing this blog, it is getting dark out and both the New York skyline, and the Statue Of Liberty are lit up. I am in total awe of the view.
Tomorrow we will head up the Hudson River to Croton-On-Hudson, where we plan to stay for a few days. Now that we are out of New Jersey it is time to slow the pace down some.
