Relaxed start to the day - kids played in the park after b/fast while L did some washing & hung it out to dry. Nice sunny start to the day!

Drove into Wellington & parked by the Botanical Gardens. Walked through the gardens, via another kids play area, to the cable car, with great views of the city and surrounding hills. Rode the cable car into the centre of the city & discovered a park with a great slide for the kids!

Spent the day at Te Papa - Wellington's 6 storey museum. Ate lunch outside, beside some huge shiny artworks (giant bird poo!). J loved the dinosaur section & especially the sandpit containing a covered mosasaur skeleton & the Polynesian drumming!

Five hours later, and our brains were full! Drove out of the city, via the Interislander wharf - to discover that we could get the first ferry, if we get there at 7am!

Back to the cabin to eat & pack, & set the alarm for 6am.
