Tried to have a lie in, but M decided that she was bored, at 10 to 7, and started to jiggle about in the top bunk, and talk to herself! After a brief discussion with Daddy, we managed to stay quiet until ~8.30!

Leisurely b/fast, then walked along the beach & into town, and eventually to the Whaleway Station! Good information film, pre-boarding, then a 20-30 min sail to where a whale had been spotted, earlier in the day. A bit of a swell, out to sea,, & D started to feel a bit queasy, quite quickly!

Saw the largest species of Albatross & some dolphins, and (eventually) one sperm whale. J took ~15 mins of video, D only a single photo, as he was trying to concentrate hard on not throwing up!

Suddenly, our time was up, and we were sailing back into Kaikoura - it felt like a very short trip, both for the cost, and in comparison to what D&L could remember from their last visit! Bought the kids fish & chips (fush'n'chups!) for tea, then stopped at Cellar Tastings (off license) for a glass of wine & some music! Then back to the Albatross, for D& to participate in their "curry & nan" night - yummy!
