Set alarm for 7am (ouch!), so that the kids could get to school for the beginning of the school day, at 10 past 8. Made a pot of coffee, & gave the kids toast for breakfast, then Susana drove us all to the school, where the kids happily went to their respective classrooms. After dropping the kids off, we bought fruit & some filled bread rolls for breakfast, & returned to the house to eat them. The next few hours were spent studying, blogging, chatting & playing with Nicole!
Drove back to the school, at 2pm, to pick up the kids, then went to a couple of banks, to start buying Euros to exchange when we get to Cuba. Drove home & fed the kids, then had a light bite ourselves, as we have plans to go out to eat tonight, with Miguel. After a quiet afternoon & evening, the kids went to bed, & Quiquin came round to baby-sit!
We drove into Zacatecas, & parked outside the restaurant (Los Dorados de Villa), which was decorated in an eclectic style, with framed photos, arts & crafts, a wooden horses yoke, & a dozen old telephones on the walls (amongst numerous other things!). We ordered, & sat chatting, drinking Negro Modello & nibbling on crisp tortillas, salsa & guacamole. Then the food arrived! D&L had ordered the Enchocolatadas - tortillas filled with chicken & smothered in chocolate mole sauce & cream - just amazing!! One of the best things that we have eaten, so far on our trip!
After the meal, we went on a short walk around the centre of Zacatecas - beautifully lit, under a clear sky & full moon! Then we went into a cantina, to listen to a mariachi band, & drink tequila for a while, before returning home, for our last night in Zacatecas, with the family.
