Matt and Ant's Travels
We let down anchor in Cozumel and ere told that the pier was damaged
from a previous huriccane and so we would have to leave the boat via a
tender boat. This made things all that little bit more exciting and so
after breafast we got onto a smll ish boat and saled over the the
island. It was nothing like the previous day and this disappointe us
slightly as were were expecting it not to be very touristy and infact
it was the opposite.
The main attraction to the island was the shopping and without hiring
a car it was impossible to get out of the immediate tourist zone. We
spent a few hours looking around the shops before deciding that we
wouldnt waste our time on this island ad instead would spend the day
on the boat using the amazing facillities that they have. Just before
we headed back we were handed a gift card for a jewellery shop and so
we thought we would pop in and have a quick look. As anyone who knows
jacqui knows she got hooked by the beautiful bracelets and rings they
had and decided to purchase a very beautiful bracelet and a gorgeous
ring. She didnt have her card on her and so we headed back to the ship
where Mum and Chay stayed on board and us two went back to get the
jewellery.
It turned out that we had to pay in cash and the nearest ATM was
inside this bar. We got cash out and went to pay but they charged us
far less then they said and so we decided to spend the rest of our
money in this bar. the speciality was a yard of margarita and so we
decided to stick with that an ordered two.It turned out that a lot of
the ships staff were in the bar and so we got to meet the sign guy and
girl who were definately not as straight laced as they seem. Also we
met a few other young people from the ship who were making the most of
the free flowing alcohol yes that tequilla was really nice or was it
just that we were drunk?
We danced the afternoon away before returning on one of the last
tender boats back to the ship and got ready for our pirate night! We
all looked pretty good in our outfits and went to dinner joined in
with the pirate deck party which wasreally good fun before Yaki and I
went on to the party in Rocking Bar D. It turned out to be a kareokee
night and so wesang a couple of songs...the other guests definately
were much better. Jacqui got pretty drunk and suffered the next day.
All in all it turned out to be a really fun day and night and I will
always remember Charlies as being the best bar in Mexico!
