Hi
Congrats on the Lake Turkana route, it's a special place out there. Agree it can be somewhat lonley and remote. If you are interested recommend a run out to Lake Naron S02 37.608 E035 52.720. Keep having fun. Sheesh how we miss life on the road. Say hi to Africa for us
Hi you two, I think I did it again, after writing an e-mail I thought I had sent it but I think it is somewhere in cyber space! I havent even had the baby and already my brain is turning to mush!
Im really enjoying the website and hearing about your travels, great stuff. It makes me soooo envious, I'll have to live my gypsy life through you both for the next few months (and years!) cause Im obviously not going anywhere anytime soon!
All is going well though, only 4 weeks to go! Have fun and stay safe
love a fat and happy Becs and bump xxx

hi you two sorry we have been scarce and we left kenya for south africa. got some bad news that gnu only arrives 9th july so decided to head back to civilisation (we have explored enough of the kenyan coast!) to wait it out and spend some time with family. This entire thing has been one crap turn after another, so we fly back to mombasa on the 9th july, collect gnu on 10th (we have got final confirmation that the car has made it onto the ship) and then bomb south for arrival in karoo 24th august. will have kenyan sim again when we get back, but now the braai salt has definately travelled back to the country of its birth! will def hook up with you as we are kissing uganda goodbye and hitting tanz after the masai mara and tsavo. Will be in touch. hope you are still in love with each other and cathey ;)chat soonus

Hey you guys!
Sorry we have been so scarce on emails, but we have been armchair African travellers all the way! You two are doing brilliantly and what an amazing set of photos (I have a rather envious husband!) Rob is looking positively like Mr Explorer himself and Ings, ...we need to see more of you please! Keep updating and we will keep reading as ever.
Lots of Love, Fee, Adam, Hannah and Harry xx

We can now finally answer your question from months ago: After 4 months and 10 days driving on the wrong (right) side of the road we have now finally crossed over to driving on the right (left) - get it? - side of the road in Kenya.
Although it was over a week of driving at first on earth tracks so we have only gotten back to driving on the correct side a few days ago.
Hope all is well
Love to the family
All the best
Cheers

Bad luck with Gnu, but such is Africa - things take time. Thought you would have been doing well to get Gnu on the 20th as planned!
We have just reached relative civilization after over a week with no banks, diesel, bad roads, wash-aways, river crossings and mud. In Nakuru, via Sibiloi NP, Loyangalani (Lake Turkana), Maralal and Lake Bogario NP, and heading to Nai-robbery in the next day or so. So just got your message now - hadn't planned past Nairobi but Tiwi Beach sounds good if we have to come collect our gear. Now have your number and have tried texting. Will conatct you again and try make a plan to hook up.
Cheers Us

hi! as africa goes we have hit a hitch... gnu is sitting in the port at Jedda in Saudi and is yet to be loaded to come to mombasa. only due 1st july now. bloody annoying as we have such a tight timescale anyway. so up to lamu today, down to diani or tiwi beach until then. our cell is below; so call us when you reach civilisation; you may have to come to us to fetch lens and salt. Hope you are having a ball.
