Saturday evening saw us hooking up with Bronwyn and Andrew of www.4x4xafrica.com at Crystal Palace in London for overnight camping, the starting point of the 2006 SLSLRC L2B Land Rover Run (hows that for an acronym!)
We had a pleasant evening camping with a bit of rain once again but not too bad. Slightly interrupted nights sleep too, due to wind rattling the tent as usual. Maybe we should have slept inside as Inga suggested!
From about 4 or 5am in the morning Land Rovers from elsewhere, that didn't stay over, started arriving which ended all thoughts of further sleep. We started getting ready to leave for around 07h30 and finally got out of the gates 30mins - 45 mins later.
The drive down was pretty uneventful but pretty fun seeing all the Land Rovers everywhere with all the flags! We parked down on the beach front where we passed the next few hours walking around looking at the other Land Rovers, eating fish and chips and also no trip to Brighton would be complete without a visit to Brighton Pier, especially as it was Inga's first trip to Brighton.
Thanks to Bron and Andrew for the excellant company and good luck on your journey round Scotland. See you when you get back before leaving for Africa.
Also thanks to SLSLRC for organising a great event. Any Land Rover fans, I would definately recommend going next year.
For more photos go to: www.l2bphotos.org.uk Gnu & Cathey are in there somewhere, see if you can spot them?
Cheers
Till next time
