Hey everyone, We are still stuck in Santiago. We have a big problem with our car. We wouldn't be able to sell the car in another country as it can only be sold if we had a chillean passport, so pathetic! We have to stay until Monday to confirm what........ If we still can`t sell in other country, we will find a way to solve it! Car is VITAL to us! Tonight we will have a big party bash with Chilean deafies. They are wikked! Afterwards, we are going to Sta Travel to change our flight because it`s impossible to have time to go all way to Caracas within less than 4 weeks. Chile is our longest stay but we adore their cultures! Happy Birthday to Robbie, hope you are having a good day. Make sure you invite the right people so that can make you black out! Never! If I am there, end of world! Our website is quiet atm, WHAT UP!!!! You lazy gits! Now is the weekend so you have no excuses! Antx

I wish I had more time to explore South America as I'm only there for one month and visiting Brazil and Argentina but hey I can do that in the future, and as CJ says you are never too old to travel! :) Seeing that you guys have fallen in love with the idea of travelling, I can picture you being old biddies who are never tired to travel. Loads of people seem to be around the world right now, makes it sound so easy to get out there. As for news, I think I'll save it for when I see you face-to-face. When do you return to England? Hugs x

Oi you guys! Picturing u guys lazying in front of the computer screen, clicking on our website, enjoying looking at pictures, postcards and the messageboard, but leaving the website without posting any msgs! very lazy u guys......
we're moving around a lot in Chile now that we got a car! we're falling in love with it (especially me, giving hell to the Chillean people on the road by roaring past them with the music blaring at full volume!!) (dont worry, i think i can guarantee u guys we'll be back in one piece, although we've had several near miss crashes, that Ant will try and remember them all and put in our next postcard, which should be quite soon!) Chile has been a fantastic adventure, with many thrilling stories to tell, but it's Argentina now we're looking forward to, leaving Chile tomorrow!
update us on news from ur side of the world, we're curious to know what u've been up to lately!
i should say this at the end of our travel, but seriously, gotta say that now, South America is totally totally a must to travel, there's loads to do and to see, and for all age and sexes (although, i've had many debates with our Bree, over men and women in travelling, and in general, so unbelievable of her, coming up with silly facts that women are equal to men! please girls, dont even think abt starting a debate on this silly subject on this marvellous website! just, we all know deep inside there's huge differences between both sexes, that i WONT go into details!)
take care, and keep this website alive otheriwse we wouldnt be bothered to post any postcards nor pictures anymore! cyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Ads, Ill be keeping an eye out for an email from you with your results, Ohhhh sooo curious! The music festival sounds wikked! Forget packing your clothes, just leave enuff room for beers! Where will you be staying in Leeds, a tent? Doing the whole ´cold showers, wellies and booze thing!´ Youll never appreciate hot baths, warm beds and Mums cooking more after! My blow-up chair, not sure If its still around: my fat arse popped it a long time ago. But have a look in my room for stuff or top of your wardrobe:if its there find the hole and stick some glue in it. Help yourself (but no getting ideas about using my clothes for something theyll never return back from!). Let me know if youve crashed the car yet doing a rally around the carparks! Dad! Im well and safe only thing you need to worry about is me getting a crooked back from sleeping in the car! The car has become our mobile home, we eat, sleep, and the boys case farrrt in it! *picture me desperately winding down the windows to gulp in the fresh air* and Im becoming accussumed to squadding down in the bushes, cold air up my bum for a wee! Julia, all of us are very scruffy, almost forgotten what a hairbrush used is for(!) Looking forward to when I get back for a hair cut, new clothes: to be as extravagant with my money as my bank balance will allow! Miss shopping! Aman, Im in need of a serious GOSSIPIN session, so start making notes: I wanna hear everyfink from back home! The girlie part me is SCREAMING to get out!
Mhhhhh Nah rien de eux deux, les hommes de Brazillian doivent avoir que je cherche !*wink* Aunt Val, ask Stefan if he would teach me once hes got to the instructor stage!I would love to learn to scuba dive, its another world down there, underwater waiting for me to explore! Nana, Im not too sure a cruise boat an fit down the amazon! You have travelled around the world lots, Im sure it will take me some time before I can complete with the stamps in your passport! Will be counting Dads when I get back to see if I beat him!
Far East girles! I have not forgotten you! I will email as soon as I can: you are all looking fooooooe in the photos, I bet you 4 are sitting in the beach stipping cocktails as Im shuffling my feet and zipping up my fleece as we are SUD, SUD Chile, Pucan. Frio, frio, frio! (Cold, cold, cold! Thats about as far as my spanish goes!) Dreaming of Rio keeps me warm at night! That and an occassional hot spring which chile is full off! Off to one now! ¡Ten cuidado!

Sorry to hear that you lost your bag, glad that money and passport are OK. That's quite a good record on past performance! Still got your hearing aids? Great postcard....I don't know how you all fit so many adventures in. I am a bit worried about the car....driving in south america seems as dangerous as bungee jumping and downhill sandboarding, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm going to start Adam's driving lessons in mum's car. No one would insure him for my car!
Julia

Yuks! Ive finally finished my postcard! I hope you all think its worth the wait! In Santiago at the moment, lovely city, but very expensive! I had my bag mugged while we were enjoying a lovely lunch in the Plaza. The muggers were V.sly, none of us saw the bag disappear. Spent an hour at the police station trying to explain I need a written statement for my insurance company, finally a big policemen came to my resuce (not bad looking either, v.tall and dark!yum!Even asked if I was married, think that was just for the statement thought!Me and my imagination!) and we got somewhere. My photographs of Uyuni lake have all gone, and so have my hearing aids! Luckly I had my passport in my bumbag with my money so I can leave the country without any problems! The mugging starting a disscussion on who would be fastest (Emlyn or Ant) to racing to catch the mugger! But of course we all know it would be ME!ahem! From Ants message, you will all know that we have brought a car!Emlyns loving cruzin around the city; no more public transport for us! We will be heading on a road trip down south- south Chile, figures crossed for our safe journey!!
Antonio
Hola,
First of all, the bad news, my visa card got broken! It got stuck in the cash point machine and never came out. So I have no money, sobs! Don`t worry, I will sort it out asap. Another one...............Bree`s rucksack (small bag) has been stolen. We were eating outside and her bag disappeared without any of us realising. Poor her as she also lost her valuable stuff such as mob phone, camera, hearing aid and few dollars cash. Luckily, she still has her passport, visa card and the rest. Good news, you all wanna know? Erm okay........We`ve bought a CAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR Wooooohhhhoooooo. It`s a Toyota Duewoo Racer 1.5. A quite old car but who cares! Alrim everyone especially you my dear mates!!!! You girls in the Far East - ALRIM?! We`re heading to the south - follow Katie`s advices! Don`t worry darling, Pisco was a pleasure as we had a smashing time! Anyway, we`ve finally put the photos and postcard of Bolivia on the website. Sorry for the delays. Problem - We`ve lost some of our CD of some bits of Bolivia (including the wikked Salt Lake of Uyuni) and Chile as it was in Bree`s bag. Just hope the memories of the Salt Lake will remain with us forever. We`re off now and it`s our `Road Trip`beginning *drum rolls*!!!!!!!!!!! Antx
Bree's Aunty Val And Nana Smythe
Just back from Crete and off to Florida on Sunday, Uncle Laury is meeting me there to join me and Rhodri and his girlfriend Helen at the villa we've rented there. Your photos of Machu Pichu look superb. I'm printing the one of you and your two friends at the site for my office at work to remind me to get planning my visit. Steff has been diving in Crete and has been invited back to work for the diving company next summer to continue his courses - he's nearly at instructor level - just 2 more courses left but really hard ones. I can only just snorkel! You are crazy to do all that bungy jumping but I bet it was fun. Lester must be chewing his nails when he reads your diary. Lots of love, Val.x
Hi Bree, Lovely to see your photos and read about your adventures. You lucky girl seeing all these wonderful places. I still hope to go down the Amazon but in a Cruise boat. I suppose I don't do too badly for a 78 year old Nana. Waiting patiently for your news. All our Love, Grandad and Nana xxxxxxxx

I am MUY MUY shocked about the abuse I am receiving! Totally undeserved! i am just trying to help you guys... i know pisco is hard to handle in the beginning but after a while you will get used to it, stop being such wussies! ;) I made a mistake: drunk is "curado" but in Chile they would say it "curao" cos they don't pronounce things well. Culao on the other hand is something else, don't say it to someone cos it's pretty rude... (comes from the work "culo" which means "ass" hehehe) huevon is a very famous word, but they'd say it "hue'on". Good luck in your quest....
have fun!
And don't you dare try blaming me again of i wont give you any wise advice EVER AGAIN!!!
