South America Adventures ft. Lisa and Jeremy
60 Bus hours later, we're in La Paz now! These were not, however, your standard Australian bus hours, filled with alcoholics and casual racism, but much more exciting than that, featuring 3-hour late buses, bipolar cabins alternating between steam baths and freezers, roadside diners with unusual hours, a five hour wait in Puerto Suarez in scorching heat, miniature emus-come-dinosaur-bird, a small child with a head wound and a Chilean Angel named Francisca without whom we would have been more lost and confused than is safe to think about. Also, mountain roads ... Narrow mountain roads ... Narrow, unsurfaced mountain roads with sheer sides dropping off a great distance. They were a thing too.
