This is definitely one of the nicest places I've seen!
Great Ocean Road is rated in the Lonely PLanet as one of the top three drives in teh world, and it is warranted. It's sooooo beautiful.
We were picked up at 7.15 in the morning (aarrgh) and then taken to the office to pay. From there the journey really began. There's just too much taht happened during the day to tell you, but I'll try to remember most of it!
The first stop was at Bells Beach. This is a famous beach for surfing Australia. We stopped for a while to see the views and have some tea and biscuits. The flies were really annoying, so I was glad to get back in the bus.
Before lunch, we stopped at various other places to get better views and take photo's. The road is so curvy and you get to see how far it goes sometimes. The sea views are absolutely amazing though.
For lunch we stopped at Koala Cove for Fish + Chips (Merle had a wrap). This area is names because you see so many Koala's there (another gripe about my camera, I had soooo many good pictures, but they got wiped!). We also took along bird seed and the wild Laurakeets will sit on you and eat the bird seed out of your hands!
Later on was the 12 Apostles (there's only 9 now). We could only see 5. You had to go up in a helicopter to see the rest. The view there is amazing. After the 12 Apostles was Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge (looks just like a bridge). Again the views were amazing.
On the way home we stopped in Colak (home to the Timmons family in Neighbours) for some food. We got dropped off at the Hostel at about 8.30. What a long day!
