following morning after arriving back from our trek up Mt Kinabalu we headed to the airport. Aching and wishing we didnt have to go anywhere as we lugged our backpacks up and down stairs and in and out of taxis.
When we got to the airport we discovered our 12:30 pm flight had been cancelled and we where now on the 3:30pm flight (annoyed was not the word as we could have had longer in bed!) Whilst waiting in line to check in we saw the four ladies from Kuala Lumpur we met up the mountain in Laban Rata, who were also on our flight over to Kuala Lumpur. We all joked about how rubbish we were feeling and swaped details in which we could meet up when in Kula Lumper.
We borded our plane and watched out of the window as we left Borneo, sad to leave such a magical country. Leaving the runway we could see the monster of a mountain we had just climbed and lush green jungle all around leading to crystal clear, reef filled waters. We rememered the once in a life time opportunites we had just taken, the river cruise down the Kinabatang River through one of the oldest jungles in the world, the wild Orangutans, Climbing to the roof of Malaysia and looking down over all this you really do feel like Borneo truly is the land that time forgot.
