Day 9: Grand Canyon
Early start today. 5am, as we have a 2 and a 1/2 hr drive to the Grand Canyon.
We visit the West Rim of the Grand Canyon, which is owned and run by the Halopai Indian tribe.
The Grand Canyon is like Uluru inverted. It's massive and quite breathtaking.
As I chose not to do the helicopter flight, I tour the reservation instead and learn about they're homes and customs. I find this more interesting than the Canyon itself, as I have always been fascinated by the American Indians and their way of life.
At night, I venture off to The Bellagio to take photos of the indoor garden, which is absolutely beautiful. It's like u've stepped into a fairytale.
I then watch the fountain show as I take in the view of Las Vegas by night.
The standout for me is The Paris Hotel with its Eifel Tower lit up. As I look at it, I think "next year", I will stand before you and see you with my own eyes.
Another must for me in Vegas was to see The Flamingo hotel, which was in my favourite movie Casino. I love the pink and orange lights.
I cap my night off, by sitting at the corner bar outside Flamingos, drinking Millers, watching the 'craziness' that is Vegas pass by.
The Black Keys, Tom Petty,The Black Crowes and Aerosmith playing in the background.
The scene could not get any better.
I am loving life right now.
