Day 35: Atlanta Today our tour ends : ( We're having a farewell lunch in Atlanta at Gladys Knights resteraunt called Chicken and Waffles. We wait for an hour and a half. Apparently this is the place to be! We then get back to our starting hotel in Atlanta and say goodbye to those leaving. Day 34: Birmingham Today we left New Orleans for Birminghan Alabama to visit the Civil Rights Museum. The museum is fascinating and has been put together really well. I'm glad I got to visit and see a part of history. Most of it was quite sad about the segregation and mistreatment of black Americans. Day 33: New Orleans Sleep in, then lie by the pool for a couple of hours. New Orleans is hot and humid. I walk around the streets one more time and buy a few last minute souveniers. As I do, I bump into my roomie Sabine and we sit at a cafe and have fruit salads, as we wait for the quick shower to pass by. Day 32: New Orleans Free day in New Orleans to look around the French Quarter. I start off at Cafe Vue De Monde, with having a coffee and Beignets (French doughnuts) which are like Churros. For dinner, we board a steam boat which takes us up the Mississippi River. Day 31: New Orleans Today the group does a swamp tour on route to New Orleans. I give it a miss as I feel a bit faint. Jen (tour guide) and I go to the local Cracker Barrell instead, where Brian the waiter keeps us entertained by making us roses out of napkins, lol We check into our hotel in New Orleans which has a pool (mad!) and then head off for a Cocktail tour of New Orleans where we learn about the history of the French Quarter by night.
