Well we all arrived safely in San Francisco and i successfully managed to drive the 350 miles from LA but Sue helped out in the middle when i got cramp. What a fun week we have had in here and we love this place and booked ourselves into our favourite hostel so far. Have met loads of really friendly people from all over the world. The hostel even cooks our dinner for us, although last nights wasnt the best (half cooked chips which were still frozen in the middle, which they claimed were european style?! Not quite sure which european countries the chef has been to?! They also provide free wine and beer 2 nights a week, so we have taken full advantage of this. As soon as we arrived here we went to see the Golden Gate Bridge, which was really impressive. We then came back and hogged the hostels washing machines and dryers for the next 5 hours, trust me we werent popular after that. But if we didnt wash them then our clothes would have run off us! That night we went to a cool bar with some new friends that we had made, from Oz, Holland, Argentina and a lad from Sheffield. We all had a great night but the girls were shocked at the price of the spirits, thankfully i was in my element with a $2 Corona. ;) Next day we went to see Fishermans Wharf and Erin and I ate the biggest fresh shrimp and crab baguette's which were yummy, the masses of seasgulls flocking around our heads also seemed to think so too. We then went and relaxed on Pier 39 and listened to the dulcet tones of sealions (sounded like a huge group of lads burping at the same time.) There we met up with Suzanne and Marilyn's friends, Imy and Dominique and went to Lombard Street, which is the crookiest st in the world. I was up for driving down it but the girls wouldnt let me! :( My driving isnt that bad! That night the girls went out for dinner and drinks and Erin and I stayed in and had taco's for dinner and got taught 47 different card games with our new found friends. Thursday all six of us went to Alcatraz, which was a really good day out and very interesting, if a little eerie. We then went to China town for the worst ever dim sum ive ever eaten. It was disgusting and we were adament we would alll end up ill but luckily we have been ok. We wont be having chinese for a long time now. Yesterday we went to Golden Gate Park, which was quite an experience. Upon entering the park we were immediately offered nuggets....chicken we thought? We were going to ask for some barbeque sauce to go with it but i just ended up saying 'i dont smoke da reefer'!!! Last night the hostel organised a big pub crawl, which we gladly took part in (some of us more than other's eh Erin!!!!) Great night out and over 30 people made it. Erin hit the jackpot and was the first 'girl on tour' to meet a nice guy, sadly he is from Wolverhampton but that didnt bother her, obviously its just me that finds that accent soooo annoying! He is planning to meet up with us all again along the way, so will keep you posted. ;) Its our last day today and we are really sad to be leaving. We have had a great time here, the weather has hit record highs for this time of year, so we have been really lucky and even pasty Erin is picking up a cracking tan. It onwards to Auckland tomorrow, not really looking forward to the 13 hour flight but im sure it will be well worth it. Have booked into a hostel with a pamper floor for girls only....trust me this wasnt my choice, no chance of me meeting any nice guys but at least i will have a glass of champagne in my hand, lovely straight hair and a bed with fluffy pillows and quilts to fall into...ON MY OWN!!!!
