Saturday October 13th
Back to the Disneyland/california parks again, but this time we arrived there a bit later as we were planning to stay there till the evening to watch the fireworks/parade.
Weather was looking bit dull and cold! It have been raining early morning but luckily it cleared up in the afternoon.
First thing we did was straight to California Park and finished off the rides that we needed to do to complete our map. We also visited the information centre to request about Closed Captioning Activators, where they have live captions along in any shows. After playing with it, we realised it wasn't worth it cos they only got 3 shows in total! We returned it back in the end. At one point, we visited the show which was really for youngesters. (We didn't know at the time!) They had hand held captions where you have a folder full of transcripts. We didn't really appreciate it as it was impossible to follow through, especially in the dark!!
We said our goodbyes to the California Park and hopped to the Disneyland. We were pleased to be back there as it was full of actions.
We made our way to Space Mountain, another rollercoaster that we must do to tick off on our map. That was done as you can see in the photo. It was very dark and bumpy!! We were being pulled side by side most of the time. We did enjoy that!
There was one area of the park that we didn't visit on the first day so we made our way to see what its like. Its called Mickey's Toontown. We realised that it was really for kids but still we had alot of fun there. We got to see what Mickey and Minnie's houses were like inside. You can see Goofy's and Chip & Dale's houses in the toontown.
While we were having a nose around in Mickey's house, we also got to meet Mickey Mouse. Originally we queued up to meet Minnie but unfortunately the time was up to meet her so we moved onto Mickey Mouse instead.
We did go on one of the rides called Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin. It was fun as we didn't realise that we can actually spin the car around ourselves! Daniel didn't like that too much as he was getting dizzy! We went back to have another go on Buzz lightyear Astro Blaster cos Lisa wanted to beat Daniel's score. Unfortunately she failed... more like Daniel cheated :P
After looking at the time, we realised we had about a hour left before seeing the parade so we made our way. We were lucky enough to get the seats to get a good view of the parade. While we were waiting, it was getting chilly and cold! As it was getting dark, the colourful lights were glowing which made the park look very attractive!
Parade started at 6.30pm, but we actually waited till about 10 mins later for them to arrive at our spot. It was full of characters, blaring music and plenty of dances. We did enjoy it.
We were getting hungry so we decided to treat ourselves to buy the dinner at the Disneyland. It was very filling and we were naughty too as we also bought a yummy chocolate cake too!
After looking at the map to see what was left to do, we were surprised that the park was getting even more busier, longer queues so we were lucky to visit most rides on our first visit to the park!!
Just wandering around, seeing the lights in the park till 9.25pm for the fireworks display. When the time was nearer, we searched for the best spot to view without trees in the way, looking at the castle. When it was starting, we didn't see any till we realised it was actually on the left side of the castle behind the trees. We were in the wrong spot and couldn't view much so we tried to move to get a better view. It was better than we saw previously.
It was going on for about 30mins but we have to leave before it ended to avoid the queues for the taxi to take us back to the Amtrak Station. As we were exiting the park, people were still going through the entrance!! It was our last time to visit the Disneyland. Good riddance probably cos we were getting tired after 4 full packed days!
