Woke to blue skies, a glorious day. Bit more with it today, we start walking around 09:30. Another walk from the camp site, this time we head along the coastal path into Portscatho through the village and back onto, the SWPath.
The quay looks different with a high tide. A family at the harbour jumping off the walls into the sea, with a wet suit of course!
The path heads onto NT Pednvadan and hugs the coast line.
Majority of Walk is dog friendly all beaches dogs allowed except for the small quay at Portscatho. Pendower after 1st May dogs to be kept on a lead. This beach at low tide is very large so you could easily give your dogs a run out of school, holidays at the far end of the beach.
The coastal path is safe with just 1 or 2 areas where the grass overhangs a steep drop.
The walk through another stretch of NT path was beautiful with wild garlic and bluebells in bloom.
We had a lovely lazy day with a lot of the walk on the beaches. The Gerrans beaches, (3 bays) we managed to walk as the tide was going out and we scrambled over rocks. We had the beaches to,ourselves and stopped often. The sea is crystal clear with white sands/shingle and stunning aqua colour. The sun was so warm we could have quite easily been on a Greek island.
I did dip my toes in a couple of times but it was rather cold!
I enjoyed on the way back at full low tide exploring the many rock pools on the Gerrans Bays.
We called at the pub Bloom on Feathers in Portscatho for a couple of ciders, very tasty too.
Returned to The Villa (aka tent) for shower, sit down and a glass of wine. Russ cooked delightful meal, Chicken and mushroom sauce with fresh green beans, broccoli and new potatoes.
2130 now and ready for sleeps! Camp chair/ beds are so comfy, electric good enough to have fan and halogen heater going, we are very very toasty warm!
