Last night I had 5 cockroaches coming out my bathroom wall - and not the little black ones you get in spain, these were big brown/yellow beasts. I just had to shut the door and get back to sleep. I then had scary dreams about them. By morning they were gone. Went snorkelling today which was amazing! saw turtles swimming along beside us and whole host of brightly coloured fishies. The turtles are the only thing worth seeing in the perentian islands. maybe that's a bit harsh! Saw my first monitor lizard today. They look like dinosaurs - and they bite. Claudine who lives 2 doors up from me said that it was only a baby one and that there are bigger ones (2 metres long) on the island. We had a big thunderstorm tonight which is always an experience when you live in a tiny hut. It soon cleared and I met up with Claudine (a girl from singapore) an english guy and two irish guys for tea and some malay whiskey. Went to bed early though.
