I knew I had overdone it! One day I will finally get the habit of remembering exactly how old I really am, its a bit like how many days in the month, I still cant get that right neither.
Monday the 12th - I managed to get out of bed by pulling myself out using a combination of my extremely large arm muscles (yeh like!) and the bedside cabinet. The day was spent hobbling around Cusco.
I am staying in a really nice bohemian type area called San Blas, it really is lovely with a little plaza and lots of little alleyways. The taxis cant come all the way up because its so steep and so lots of steps......think San Francisco and you get the idea. Well I am now cursing that decision to stay here, becasue going down steps is like a nightmare.
Today I got hassled by a Peruvian beggar carrying all their sleeping and worldly items on their back. When he asked for money I gave him the usual "Non Gracias" which is part one of the escape plan from beggars, part two is to actually walk on forcibly faster than they can be bother to chase you. Well , I am not capable of part two, so this beggar followed me around for about 45 mins and I couldn´t shake him off! Ended up having to go into an upmarket hotel for a coffee in the knowledge that the door staff wouldnt let him in!
So, a quiet day as I had planned, but really just meanering around the Cusco street, but it was still vey nice. No photos...yippee!
Tuesday 13th - Cusco to Lima - Got up, same skilful routine as yesterday as thigh muscles must be in the same Limb union as the calf muscles, as they have now come out in symphathy too and downed tools so to speak.....hey can you hire a wheelchair around here or what?
Struggled to check out, taxi to airport and 11am flight Cusco to Lima. As i type just checked into Lima Hostel/Hotel in San Miguel area, maybe it was named after the Spanish beer? Close to airport as I fly out on the 15th for RIO!!
Into Lima this afternoon/evening to sightsee and to see if I can conjure up something to do which doesn´t involve any movement on my behalf.
