Agra - Sunday 24th February 2008

Up again early to have another peak of the Taj Mahal from the rooftop, then out to the same restaurant I went to last evening for breakfast. Coffee, scrambled eggs and loads of butter and toast and all for 80p!!

Then met with my driver at 11am and off for the 1.5 hour drive to the ghost city. Got a local guide when I was there who showed me around the place. The buildings were stunning, made mostly of red sandstone types and the whole city was contained within a huge wall. Really was a beautiful place. It was abandoned basically as it had no water supply!

The drive to and from the city was an experience with cars overtaking on wrong sides of the road, camel pulled carts, trucks that look like they were built in the 1920s..... fantasic viewing!

Back into Agra at about 3pm, then to lunch to say thanks to my driver and then off to Dehli tonight on the 7pm train.....
