This unassuming, and slightly backwater, seaside town is a little more out of the way. On arrival, we found it rather lacking in its set up for western tourists. It's not all that surprising that this is merely seen as a convenient place to break the journey between Nha Trang and Danang; at first glance, the town offers very little apart from a collection of small coves dotted along the coast (nice to explore IF it doesn’t rain, constantly!).
However, after spending the afternoon pottering, this sleepy little town — especially the narrow tree-lined streets, set back from the sea — is rather quaint. There is a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere; I am not sure if anyone actually works, as they seem to spend all their time in the multitude of coffee shops. And the architecture is a pleasant mix of the existing, pre-war, French Colonial and new stylish, yet unassuming, builds.
Along with its banks, cafes, stucco buildings, and schools, it’s a city which you could actually almost see yourself living in. Worth spending a little time here.
