Arrived in New York last night. Just the subway ride into Manhatten was entertaining. It's freezing here as expected and Central Park is white with snow and ice. Went down to Broadway and Times Square last night. It's all in your face after my quiet time in New Zealand. Will post some details once I've had a look around.

Howdy crew. Just got into Auckland yesterday from Christchurch. Sadly all I've been doing is that 'nature smature' stuff. I got a boat out to the Queens Charlotte track last week. It's a walk along the Queen Charlotte Sounds. A pretty dull walk really, with pretty dull people everywhere too. At least I know now. Just got back to Christchurch after spending last week walking the Rees-Dart Track in the south west of the island. It's a 4 day walk with an extra day added if you decide to climb past the Dart Glacier up to the Cascade Saddle. The first day was mostly wadding through ankle to knee deep mud along river flats thanks to recent rain.
