We are now in Costa Rica and although it is just next door to Panama we can already notice the difference. The people seem a bit more 'with it' and they look more Latino. The first place we went was Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast. It's a really laid back town where we rented bikes and road up to a surf beach for a swim. We arrived at Isle Colon, Bocas del Toro by a water taxi from the mainland. Made it more exciting knowing we were staying on a tiny island for the wkend:) While it was raining as we checked in, we were really happy with the hotel we booked. So the bus trip to Boquete was interesting. We arrived at the bus terminal and the guy who spoke no English said bus was full. Hello! We are finally in Central America! Panama to be exact! We landed yesterday afternoon to a hot and humid Panama City. Our hotel is awesome, got a great deal so an easy way way to transition into the different culture;) Will start roughing it soon. Forgot to write about our time in Washington DC so thought we would quickly fill u in. Stayed with Daniel (mate from Australia) & his fiancé Emily. They have a nice apartment just outside of DC. They took us to the major attractions like the Lincoln memorial and of course the White House. It was great to see it, didn't realise the view we always see in pictures is actually the back of it.
