Woke up today and it is sunny!!! AMAZING! So that means a day off placement!!! A day sunbathing by the lagoon and a BBQ for brunch.... What could get better eh?! Did some lovely reading, sleeping and general people watching today... Had a cracking dinner cooked a la Kat... Sweet chicken... And I've decided that put blond is my favourite lager... Low in carbs therefore doesn't have the starchy barley type taste!delish...! all packed up and ready for my flying d...

An early start.... But by god it's sunny! So excited! Very few clouds in the sky, no wind! Perfect conditions for reef day!!! Yay!!! Also an ironman competition in cairns and port Douglas.... A 3.8km swim 180km cycle and a 40km run..... God these people are fit! Some people we know from the hospital were running it so we watched a little before the boat, but didn't see anyone we knew... A 90minute trip to the outer reef and no surprised for guessing that I was ...

A nice lazy morning, stroll around rustys and I bought a coconut... Which as I write this lying by the lagoon I am drinking :)...then it rained again...so it was lunch time! Spent the afternoon chilling out listening to live music in the park before reef school.... Even when we are on holiday we can't resist a good lecture!! Learned all about the sea life, coral and fish! Was really interesting and has prepared us for what to expect tomorrow... Went home via the ...

So placement came and went today..,. Very briefly!! And we had a cracking free lunch with amazing fruit again, and no speaker! So once lunch was done, we were outa there!! Off to finalise our tour, shopping for BBQ stuff and a coffee with apple strudel! The alcohol purchase was a challenge and we were frowned upon for purchasing a 24 pack...even more frowned upon for carrying it through the shopping centre home.... Then it was BBQ time.... The beers were flowing ...

Today we had some fantastic teaching... Fever in the bush followed by some rheumatic heart disease then a cheeky bit of sports med and taping... Which may lead to some work experience with a local rugby team!! Exciting...! But most importantly we got signed off.... So from now on... No more sunny days in placement.... So I guess that means we will be in all the time ;) Spent the evening chilling out and attempting to write my reflection.... Less than successfull...
