After a good nights sleep (the street is noisy with buskers during the night), we took the number 15 tram (yes, like Melbourne's modern trams) down to Belem. We visited Jeronimo Monastery, a fortress & a monument to important people. All very impressive.then on to bakery for Belem tarts-really great. We had 2 each really nice. Back to travellers house and there were lots of people in our street dressed up and with wigs and masks- it was carnivale. Lots of families a really nice atmosphere buskers and restaurant in the middle of the street. Soaked up the atmosphere and enjoyed the day.
