So i finally tore myself away from Boracay. Back on the road again.
Almost a complete disaster, as i arrived at the airport after a HUGE final night out, i found out that late the night before the airline had cancelled my flight and stuck me on an earlier plane. As i arrived at the airport, chuffed but tired, i found out that i was the last to check in and my plane was on the tarmac waiting. Luckily Filipino hangovers are best spent on the tarmac waiting so it wasnt too much trauma. Not bad i arrived at 9am and my flight was leaving at 9.10. You'd never get through any other airports that late!!
Anyway the plane was an ickle 19 seater. Awesome little thing. I basically sat behind the pilot which was entertaining watching him fly it. Reminds me to get back into flying again. Got some good shots of the islands on the way into Palawan. Turns out they were Honda bay where i spent a few hours with the cool gang later on.....
So my first real experience of Filipino life was the Balongawong street carnival. To celebrate the island being 50 years old in terms of inhabitancy, the locals turn out in their masses to fiesta and celebrate. Mainly a street carnival/pageant things with a 20,000 crowd to crown Miss Puerto Princessa!! See photos and video for more....
Tricycles called Mr Painter, Pamela and Chitlin, Chuck, Sandra and Kate!!
My first Jeepney also. I am going to love these, watch the photos....
