Well we made it back from the Full Moon party in one piece....just! But it was the most awsome party ever..forget Ibiza, this is madness.
Firstly, we got picked up from our hotel and taken by speedboat to Koh Phangan, being on a speedboat was an experience in itself (even more so on the way home but I will get to that later.) On the boat we got speaking to an Aussie couple (nick and leasha) who are on their honeymoon and are from Brisbane, so we just stuck with them all night. We heard the music about 5 mins before we arrived on the island and it is just pure and utter madness! Fire throwers/performers on the beach, miles and miles of bars all lit up playing all different music, stall after stall selling buckets of vodka/redbull and sprite for about 3 pounds, half naked people all painted in glow in the dark paint, it is quite a sight. We just grabbed a little table that is only about calf high and sat on the beach for the first couple of hours chatting to Nick and Leasha. Every 5 minutes some little kid (maybe only about 9/10) comes and sits beside you to try and sell flowers and glowsticks, that was pretty tough as they are out all night, right through til the morning. Then we just had something to eat and partied!! Lee and Nick started on the buckets by about 1 so by the time the boat came at 3 they really weren't fit for anything.
However, the night turned sour the minute we tried to catch the boat home...honestly it was like something off the titanic. We had to wade out quite far into the ocean to get to the boat and when we got there that one was full so we had to wait 20 mins waist deep in the ocean for the next one. By the time the next one came there were about 50 people trying to get on a boat for 15! it was madness everyone pushing and standing on each other I thought that I was going to get crushed. However, all four of us managed (eventually) to get on the boat but it got so bad that the boat wasnt even full as theyhad to abandon any hope of getting more people on as it was just chaos. We then got soaked even further on the crossing as we say right at the back, that part was fun though as it was a pretty bumpy crossing! By the time we arrive back on Koh Samui we were soaked to the skin and covered in sand (mainly because Lee fell on his *ss getting out of the boat!!) Then we got a taxi driver back to the hotel that though he was Michael Schumaker!!, we even had to tell him to slow down he was that bad. Then he moaned at lee for getting the seats wet.....you can bet he wasnt impressed when we all stood up and all his seats were wet and covered in sand!! haha.
Then the most bizarre event of the night.......lee kissed a frog...hahaha seriously, he picked up a frog that was in the corridor of the hotel (its all open plan to the gardens) and kissed it....I don't think that I will let him near the buckets again!!
Well I have just been sunbathing today as lee lies in the darkened/airconditioned hotel room (which he has not left all day!) I am off to drag him out as we are meeting Nick and Leasha for tea tonight, I think alchohol is off the menu tonight for him though!!
We have lots of pics and a video clip of the flame throwers so will get them up when lee emerges!!
Lots of love Siobhan (and a hungover Lee) xxxxx :)
