Well peeps that is us safely in Singapore, but where to begin?! Well we tooka flight from Koh Samui, which is the best airport we have ever been in! Very authentic, it is just made up of little beach huts, even the departure gates, where we got complimentary drinks, light bites and internet. The flight here was non eventful and we arrived in Singapore at about 7pm, so by the time we got to the B&B there was nothing to do apart from grab something to eat and admire the view from our Penthouse room on the 25th floor.
Well today however, got off to a bad start. I had a ditzy moment and didn't change the clock on my alarm for +1 hour, so when we set the alarm for 10 am it was actually 11...opps! So we just made breakfast and then it was out to Sinapore Zoo and Night Safari, which were brilliant! We managed to work the public transport, so we took the underground trains and the bus there and back. They are sooooo clean and efficient, very impressive, iust like all of the city! The Zoo has white tigers, white rhinos and the usual elephants, lions etc. So after trekking round the enormous zoo we decided to have a well earned Ben & Jerry's then head to the Safari Park. There we caught a creatures of the night show, where they hid a hugh python under someone's chair! Needless to say the woman was not impressed!! Then we got on the tram to take a trip round the park and see all the animals at night. There are no fences or glass between the animals and the trams, pretty scary when there is a lion or tiger just 4 or 5 meters away from you! Because it is at night it is amazing because all your senses are hightened. However, we had to get off the stop at the first opportunity because our guide had the funniest voice and we just kept laughing so we didn't see anything!! From the tram stop (in the middle of the park) we took one of 3 walking trails where you can get right up and see more of the animals. We paid the tiger a visit, but like lions they are lazy and sleep for up to 20 hours a day, so guess what he was going when we got there? After 30 mins or so doing the walking trail we hopped back on the tram and done the whole tour again because we didn't see anyting the first time! haha. This time we seen the great asian elephant with amazing long tusks. The dear and less dangerous creatures are just allowed to roam about so we got very close to a few of those, which was really cool. Then it was off home for a night on the webcam to everyone!
Well tomorrow night we fly to Brisbane but during the day we are going to head to Orchard Road (where all the shops are!!! woohoo), little India, China Town and then Raffles for a Singapore Sling!
Speak soon (probably from Oz)
Lots of Love Siobhan and Lee xx
