Well we are just back from a weekend in Brisbane. We had a fab time meeting up with Shaun and his girlfriend Carol. We caught the train from Morayfield into Brisbane and checked into an apartment in Kangaroo point on Thursday. Then we met up with Shaun and Carol and went for a chinese, mmmmm!!

On Friday we met up with Shaun & Carol and decided to just have a wander around the city on foot (obviously stopping at a couple of pubs during the day!) Then we went and had a good night at their hostel (where the jugs of beer were only $8!)

On Saturday though we decided to lay off the pubs and go to the Lone Pine Koala sanctuary. Which was amazing. There are kangaroos, emu's and wallabys just wandering around. We bought some food and fed the Kangaroos and wallabys, it was so surreal getting that close to them!! There were even a couple with Joey's in their pouches! Then we went to hold/cuddle the koala's and get our photos taken, our bear was called Bertha and was about 2 years old, so cute!! There were lots of bears with babies (lots of pics, obviously) just soooo cute, Carol and I spent the whole day saying awww!!

We only booked our apartment for 2 nights so we decided to take the plunge and have our first stay in a hostel. So we booked into the same hostel as Shaun. Then we were dragged to an irish pub to watch the old firm game , it was murder!!! The hostel was not as bad as we thought it was going to be, but it is safe to say it wasn't the Ritz! We were in a 6 share dorm ( in the same room as Shaun and Carol) so there was only another 2 other people in with us. It was just a bit like camp actually! Good to be back at Aunt Trish's now though!!
