I drove to the Bluff (suburb of Durban) to John's house. We had lunch and then set off to play golf. There is a course near to the beach - on the one side of the road is a club house with a "proper" course and the other holds a bar and pitch & put style course of 16 holes... yes 16 holes. Not 9 or 18 which I believe is usual, but for some bizarre reason 16. We did it - me using John's old clubs - with poor Jennifer & Sean trailing behind us. Weather was hot, but thank heavens for the gale force breeze or else it would have been unbearable. I only lost 2 balls... my game is improving I feel. A little nerve wracking having to check through the bush for balls in case of meeting a snake, spider, centipede or any other horrid creatures.... that is whilst ensuring you miss the mole hills along route.
