I decided to wander along the strip again, & pick up a ticket for one of the shows in the evening. The queue for the 'half price tickets' was so long that I decided to get on the bus & visit downtown instead. To my dismay, I realised that my $5 ticket for the Deuce was not quite so good during the week. I waited ages for a bus with nothing forthcoming & ended up walking half of the way to downtown (this is a LONG way trust me). Here are the old gaming halls that were very popular in the days of Frank Sinatra. There is also a light show that happens on Freemont street at night.
On the way back into town, I managed to get my 'half price ticket' - although I am not totally sure it was really half price. I shall be seeing Cirque du Soleil, Mystere, which I am very excited about as I have never seen any of these, but have heard so much about them.
I got to Treasure Island (TI), where the show is being held, early & had a drink at the bar. I was chatting to the barman who has been in Vegas for a few years now, and he wanted to take me out, but was obviously working. We had a laugh about a cocky little French git who asked for a G&T. The barman asked if he wanted 'Tanquerey' which Frenchy obviously did not get. Shaking his head, he says: 'You speak English and I speak English - Gin & Tonic please'. I was laughing quietly into my wine glass.
The show was spectacular. I loved it & definitely want to see another one if I return to Vegas.
As I was leaving TI, I spotted this chap in front of me who had the weirdest shirt on. It was a pattern of leaves & red chile peppers. I took a photo, but since I could not put the flash on (I would have been spotted!) it won't come out that well. Dinner at Burger Bar in Paris hotel. It was not great, but I was starving.
