Hello! We have had an exciting week...
On Saturday we travelled to Mt Abu and on Sunday we did a trek with our guide, Ashok. In the morning we explored the mountain sanctuary where we saw monkeys, crocodiles, birds and huge butterflies! It was much cooler in Mt Abu and the view from the top of the mountain was amazing! After our morning treking, we then embarked on an altogether different type of challenge. To find a working cash point on a Sunday in Mt Abu. 5 out of 5 were out of order! That evening we went on our second trek with Ashok to see the sunset over the mountains which was very impressive. However, when we reached the top the sunset didn't get our full attention. Ashok hurriedly told us to "shh" and hit the floor. Maybe 100m away eating berries was a sloth bear. They are very rare and Ashok was very excited. We were so busy watching the bear that we lost track of time and it was soon nearly dark so we had dash madly down the mountain before it was pitch black and we became the bears pudding! It was a really exciting day!
On Monday we then travelled back to Udaipur and then on by train to the sleepy town of Bundi. We have been forced to have a few relaxing days here because of the heat, not that we are complaining. It has been 38 degrees here everyday! Too hot to do much other than to sit and drink beer and lassi in the shade by the lake. Later today we have another train to Sawai Madhopur from where we will go on safari tomorrow in Ranthambore National Park, the best place to see wild tigers in India.
