Got our first sleeper train from Mumbai to Goa on Sunday evening - a 13 hour journey, arriving at midday on Monday. Arrived in a station which was a short auto-rickshaw ride to Goa's state capital - Panaji. Stayed in a hostal there for three nights and enjoyed the slower pace of things after the Mumbai madness. Visited Old Goa and wandered round Portuguese churches, a cathedral and an archealogical museum. The next day, went to a Spice plantation which was really interesting. Tasted and smelt lots of different spices and spice plants and ate the most amazing all you can eat lunch off a banana leaf!

Arrived in Anjuna yesterday, one of Goa's Northern beaches. Beautiful sunshine and an amazingly quiet, sandy beach. Bumped into a couple we'd met on the train and enjoyed fantastic fresh fish and drinks whilst watching the sunset over the Arabian sea. Still trying to find a good enough computer to download our photos, so hopefully there'll be some soon.
