The cultural highlight of the day was of course, the city of Schengen, the famous place where in 1985 the Schengen agreement was signed. I love it. This is how it should be. Traveling without controls. Considering that I am now in the three-country-corner (Luxembourg, France,Germany), how would it be if I would need to show my passport, everytime I cross borders. Endless controls. I ptobably would not do it. Nowadays, only the mobile phone provider signifies the nearness of a border. Anyway, next to the castle, where thr contrsct was signed, was a plsce with lots of pictures and flaggs signifying the importance of the event. What I also found there whrere two segments of the Berlin Wall. Right carried over from Potsdamer Platz to the shore of the Mosel river. Amazing how this symbol of German division has become the symbol of unification.
