Dear all,
Still spending time doing nothing in Varkala - and loving it! :)
I have been here for a week by now and time is just passing by so fast. I still spend my days eating lovely food, enjoying beachlife and hanging out with nice people. However, everybody left Varkala yesterday, so I have instead been spending time with an Indian guy called Bejoy, whom I know through Grith, a friend from Denmark.
We went on a oneday trip to Trivandrum (43 kms south of Varkala) where we drove arround on his bike looking for indian clothes for me :) I ended up buying three punjabi dresses which are at a tailor by now to get some details added. I skipped buying a saari, because I probably won't get to wear it. After the shopping we went to his place in Tvm whereI met his mom who is really really sweet. She made us limejuice and brought us bananas, and when I asked to see the ktchen out of curiosity she asked if I wanted some of the leftovers from dinner, which ofcourse was an offer I couldn't turn down - I love having mealsin the local way at private families. And the food was amazingly good! Mmh..! Afterwards Bejoy and I drove to Kovalam beach - he wanted to show me how bad this beach is, so that I wouldn't waste time here. It was really good to see - now I can recommend others to not going there. Varkala is so so much better! There is, however, a lovely luxurious beach resort with private beach, which is the most beautiful beach resort I have ever seen, I think. Perfect honeymoon spot :) It is called The Leena and looks quite expensive... The time was now half ten so we had to get back to Varkala. This was the longest journey on a scooter I have ever tried! 60 kms, a stop at Cafe Coffee Day (for the third time that day...) and 1,5 hours later we reached Varkala Beach. And believe it or not - Bejoy actually drove back to Trivandrum at 1am!
Today is beach day - once again :) - and tomorrow I go on a sightseeing in Tvm with Bejoy and his friend Tao. Monday the 9th I pick up my clothes at the tailor and at 5.30pm I get on the night train to Chennai from where I two days later fly to The Andaman Islands (on the 12th). I am really looking forward to go there! I got flight tickets for 9.350 Rs return (arround 1.100 DKK), so that is a quite nice price.
Hope you are good at home.

P.S. For some reason I have troubles uploading photos at the computers here in Varkala, but I'll try to upload some when I get to Tvm and/or Chennai.
