We arrived into Atlanta about 8:30am and headed to our hotel. It was a beautiful day...a bit cold (it was about 4C) but so very sunny and we lapped it up.We dumped our things and headed to the one place we wanted to see in Atlanta - the World of Coca-Cola. It was great. First of all, we were ushered into a room filled with different merchandise from all over the world to do with Coke. There was a painting that is worth $2 million, with a boy and a coke, with giant vending machines and trays. We then saw what happens in a vending machine (like the ad that played at home) and headed into the self-paced part where we got to meet the Coke polar bear - he was very cool.
They have some great sections. There is a miniature bottling plant on site, a 4D movie, room screening ads from around the world (no Aussie ads!) and an area filled with coke art. The last area you go into is the screening room. Here, you can taste different coke products from around the world. There is some from China, Tanzania, Panama, Italy and many more. There is also a 'normal' section, where you can taste coke, sprite, cherry coke and others. It was fantastic fun!
We had a quick look around downtown Atlanta (not exactly a bustling metropolis!) and got ready to go to Kooza, the Cirque du Soleil show that was playing in Atlanta. It was fantastic - from the clowns in the crowd before the show, to the trapeze guys who almost fell. It was by far, the best Cirque show I have seen. Even Tara enjoyed it!
